Helen Lorraine (Loudermilk) Kauff passed away peacefully at the age of 90 on September 23, 2026. Though her given name was Helen, she was known to all as Lorraine. She was born in Lewisburg, West Virginia on July 30th, 1936, to Virgil Loudermilk and Alice (Spencer) Loudermilk. Lorraine graduated from Lewisburg High in 1954 where she enjoyed being a majorette in the band. She also loved going to church and attending her youth group regularly. After graduation, she soon married her high school sweetheart Wallace Howard Kauff on July 24th, 1955, shortly before he joined the US Navy. She moved to the naval base in Virginia during his 4 years of Navy service, and they were blessed with a son Steven Howard Kauff who was born April of 1959. After Wallace completed his Naval service, they moved to Miami, Florida for Wallace to attend Embry- Riddle Aeronautical University. Eventually they moved to Palm Beach County where they ended up settling and she helped start Kauff’s Towing with her loving husband. Lorraine loved being a mother and homemaker and kept herself busy volunteering at the First Baptist Church of West Palm Beach and Trinity United Methodist in Palm Beach Gardens. She loved sewing and working in their yard and had an amazing green thumb. She was a beloved grandmother to her 3 grandchildren Kaitlyn, Kassidy, and Kennedy and always kept them busy with arts and crafts and gardening. Throughout her life she attended church regularly, often multiple services on Sunday, and was always willing to tell anyone she came across about her Christian faith and her love for Christ.
Lorraine is survived by her husband of 71 years Wallace Howard Kauff; grandchildren Kaitlyn Kauff of PBG, FL, Kassidy (Kauff) Cochran and her husband Jonathon of Auburn, AL; Kennedy Kauff of PBG, FL, and many nieces, nephews and loved ones.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her brothers Clifford Loudermilk, Donald Loudermilk and his wife Marjorie, and her son, Steven Howard Kauff.
