Jacalyn was born July 1, 1954 in Bartow, Florida and passed away October 24, 2010. She was a lifelong resident of Florida and loved living in Palm Beach County. Jacalyn graduated from Jupiter High School in 1972 and from there went to Palm Beach Atlantic University where she received a bachelor's degree in teaching. She later earned a Master's degree in Supervision and Instruction. Jacci worked for 31 years in the Palm Beach County School District, being a teacher and administrator from Pre-Kindergarten to Middle school. She was passionately dedicated to her job and expected as much from herself as she did from others. Jacalyn loved to go fishing, on calm days. She also wanted to be outside riding bikes, going to the park with the grandkids and spending time at the beach. She predeceases her loving parents, Arthur and Barbara McMillan of Naples, FL. She leaves behind her loving husband, Timothy Gilbert, two wonderful devoted children Christopher Hawkins and Kathryn Tromblay, two step-children, Thomas and Erin Gilbert, brothers, Mark and Matt and sister Susan. She will be missed as well by her many nieces and nephews whom she adored. Above all she loved her grandchildren, Lily, Charles and Nathan Hawkins. They gave her a deep feeling of joy and fulfillment that will endure forever. Visitation will be Friday afternoon from 5 to 7 PM at Howard Price Funeral Home in North Palm Beach. Services will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM at Howard Price Funeral Home with a private interment to follow. In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation to the American Lung Association
