Jack - I know you will always be with Jill in spirit.
     My last sentence should read “Now you and Gail can be together”.

Jack was an upstanding guy.  When I worked at the City of Palm Beach Gardens in Human Resources, Jack was the Chief Inspector of the Building Department.  He always did his job well and was respected by all his staff and many others who conducted business with him.   Bon Voyage Jack.  Now you and Jill can be together.  God Bless. 

RIP, Jack.  And, I know your family will be sharing many memories for a long time - with fewer tears and more smiles while doing so.  I remember my first interview was with you at City Hall.  🙂  I soon learned - while working there - that no matter where I was in the building I could hear your strong voice even if I couldn't see you. You were always available to help everyone who had a question.  (Thank you for the memories.)


Dear Hanson Family:
So Sorry for your loss and please accept my condolences.  Your father was an exceptional man.   I had the honor and pleasure of working with your father at the City Hall back in the early 1990's.  I also had the pleasure of growing up as a kid in the beautiful City of Palm Beach Gardens.  Your father was my one of my favorite people to work with and for.   He was such a kind soul and always was willing to help me solve problems within the City even if it wasn't in his department.  He was always my go to guy and played a huge part of why PBG is a great place to live.   Thank you to your father and the rest of the great people of PBG that provided a great place to grow up.  

Jack was a superb building official, establishing the most envied building department in the county, while always being the consummate gentleman!

I had the honour and privilege to work with Jack at the City of Palm Beach Gardens when I was a planner there 20 years ago. Jack was a consummate  professional, but also was just a really good guy. He will be missed by all that knew him. 

Dear Jill, Derrick and Jennifer,

My heart is heavy for your entire family.  As you grieve your father allow your hearts to receive a hug knowing that this man was a shining example of "fighting the good fight."

While a jokester, your father's presence demanded respect, something I found a bit intimidating growing up.  Then, as a young professional I realized Mr. Hanson, like Mr. Martino and our father, knew the power of silence and the strategy of a pause.  I saw your father as unflappable and resolute with the discipline to allow chaos to swirl around, all the while preparing to swoop in with a methodically thought out solution.  Watching these three men tackle the issues of the City of Palm Beach Gardens offered volumes of lessons which I cherish.  Listening to their three wives debrief on their every move, are fond memories too, sometimes making me laugh out loud.

From coach to umpire to Building Inspector, the residents of Palm Beach Gardens benefited from your father's service.

However, there is a far greater legacy left by your father in my mind.  The beautiful example of devotion.  I will forever remember your father as totally devoted to family.  There was never a doubt that he loved and valued his wife and children.  I have sweet memories of your mom and dad at the "auction" always sitting on the left and toward the front and looking like they were on a date, laughing and whispering.

So, as my heart aches for each of you, I can also smile because I am confident that Jesus met your father with open arms and said, "Well done! Welcome home."

So sorry to hear about this. He always had a smile on his face. Both of your parents were two of the nicest people you will ever meet. I was quite impressed reading about his career, but they will always be fondly remembered as "297"!

I was saddened to learn of Jack's passing.  He was a man I greatly admired and respected for his unwavering character.  I first met Jack during the early days of the PBGYAA which he and Gail strongly supported.

I was sorry to hear about Jack's passing. I said was friends with Jack and your mother as we spent many Saturday nights at the auction in Jupiter they were such wonderful people! I will remember forever as I sat next to them for many years. Better friends I have never had! May they rest in peace together as one...God Bless them both and may peace be with all of your family.

Dear Hanson family,
The passing of your Dad is so very sad.  But, you must know that he is in heaven without pain. As hard as it is without him, just remember him as the vibrant man that he was and how much he loved each of you. 

Jack was a VIP in Palm Beach Gardens and rightly so. My husband and I have loads of memories of him and your Mom, Gail.

I am sad to hear about Jack. As a contractor, I had the pleasure of dealing with him for many years at the Building Department. Jack was a true example of what a “public servant” should be, there to help everyone solve problems. I also considered him a good friend and enjoyed our many personal conversations. He was a big part in helping build PBG and I will miss him. My condolences to all of the family.

Many fond memories of working with Jack on retail improvements as well as new home projects.  Always pleasant
