

Jay was born on April 19th, 1955, to Norma Nokes Bentley and Ethan A. Britch in Manchester, Connecticut. Following Pratt & Whitney, where his father worked, his family moved to Florida in 1957.
After graduating from Palm Beach Gardens High School in 1973 where he was an impressive 6'4" drum major, he went on to study Chemistry/Biology at Palm Beach junior college and accumulated over 100 hours of additional credits and continuing education courses and was at one time an EMT. Jay worked as a Chemist in Labs such as Pratt & Whitney for 20 years 1977 – 1997 and most recently Seacoast Utility Authority 2007 – 2022.
He was a very active and respected member of the southeast Florida ACA Intergroup and Recovery Community.
Jay is predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his son Zachary Britch (Anne) and daughter Ashley Miguenz (Dario); three beloved grandchildren Marina, Luca, and Alice; sisters Laura Simon (John), Sally Carney (Gary) and Sue Foster (Jody); nieces and nephew: Andrea, Beth, Jason and Leann; cousins and so many friends.
On Sunday, June 19th, 2022, at 11:30 am, there will be a memorial and celebration of life at the beach side Laurie Schobelock Pavilion, in Carlin Park, Jupiter.
