

Joe Fischer, age 90, passed away March 31, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Noel (DeVan) Fischer to whom he was happily married for 35 years.
Born in Pittsburg, PA , he was the son of the late Frank and Gertrude Fischer. Joe survived two brothers, Ralph Fischer and David Fischer.
Joe loved flying airplanes. He ran his own airfield in Pittsburgh and flew for Allegheny and US Airlines. After his retirement, he taught meteorology and related air travel courses to aspiring pilots. In addition, Joe was an avid tennis player, bicyclist and swimmer, doing laps every morning throughout his life.
Joe and Noel loved the beach. Retired to Florida, he spent months each year at their timeshares in Aruba and St. Maarten.
Joe was deeply involved with his church, St. Paul of the Cross in North Palm Beach. He attended mass daily, served as a Eucharistic Minister and delivered communion to homebound people throughout his life.
In addition to his beloved wife, Joe is survived by his daughter Barb Flynn (Darren deceased), his son Ralph (Erin) and his grandchildren Joseph and Mattie Flynn, and Emma, Jacob, Ellie, Reed, Ryan and Rowan Fischer.
A mass in celebration of Joe’s life will be held Monday April 7, at 11 am at St. Paul of the Cross Church, 10970 Jack Nicklaus Dr, North Palm Beach, FL 33408. A reception will immediately follow at the church.
