Ken Dover of Lake Park, FL passed away peacefully on Monday, September 21st at the age of 71.
Preceded in death by his parents, Jack Dover, Sr. and Pat Starling, as well as his brother Jack Dover, Jr. He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Shirley Dover; his siblings, Richard Dover, Darlene Flannery, Debbie Connell, Norman (Butch) Starling and Carol Masi.
His sons Kenneth F. Dover Jr (Samantha) and Michael Dover (Juliana) and his 5 grandchildren: Alyssa, Matthew, Maxwell, Michael, Jr. and Mason. Along with many nieces and nephews.
Ken was born in Jacksonville, FL, but spent the majority of his life in Lake Park, FL, where he met his wife, Shirl. They were married June 11, 1977 at Trinity Methodist Church in Palm Beach Gardens, FL and were together for over 50 years.
Ken was the kindest, most giving man who always put everyone else before himself. He spent his life building beautiful homes for his customers and cherished spending quality time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. Some of his best memories were made on his boat at Peanut Island, on his Harley Davidson at bike week, and at family reunions in Yulee, FL. But his favorite spot to hang out was in his garage. Many a day or night, you could stop by the house on Flagler and enjoy a beer and a laugh with Ken, who you would find tinkering with something and watching a race on TV. He was a simple man with a giant heart and he seemed to know everything about anything. He was a dad, a coach, a mentor and a friend to so many and the most supportive husband to Shirl. He touched so many lives and will be deeply missed by all that were lucky enough to know him.
