After a sun-filled childhood, Liisa graduated from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College in Lynchburg, VA, with a degree in Psychology.
Liisa dedicated 14 years of tireless service as the Sexual Assault Victim Advocate Care Coordinator for the Palm Beach County Division of Victim Services. She was also a dedicated member of the Human Trafficking Coalition of the Palm Beaches. Giving back to the community she loved was of utmost importance to her.
A breast cancer survivor, Liisa steadfastly championed awareness and fundraising for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. She founded and led the “Pink Angels” walking team and fundraising squad in Palm Beach County, participating annually in the Race for the Cure for two decades. Komen teams supported cancer research, patient care, and financial assistance, a cause deeply personal to Liisa. She volunteered endlessly to advance breast cancer awareness and support services.
Liisa was also an active volunteer with Back To Basics, a nonprofit organization helping children.
She cherished being part of the “Just Among Friends Travel and Ski Club,” where she enjoyed many hours with her closest friends.
Liisa is survived by her devoted husband of 16 years, Donald Zaniewski; her children, Jenna McDonough and Justin Spinello, and their spouses and children. She also leaves her sister, Michelle Blank, of Newnan, GA.
She was preceded in death by her father, Sen. Ralph J. Blank, Jr.; her mother, Merry H. Blank; and her older sister, Pamela Blank.
Liisa will be remembered and celebrated by the many loving friends and family members whose lives she touched, a true testament to her generous, loving, and kind spirit. Her memory will live on forever.
A Celebration of Life with family and friends will be at a later date in the Fall.
