Louise DeGironimo Barone passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026, at the age of 99, surrounded by her loving family. In her final moments, she listened to a cherished recording of her beloved husband, Patrick, recounting their shared experiences before and during World War II and the many adventures that defined their extraordinary partnership a deeply fitting farewell to a life filled with love, devotion, and unbreakable commitment.
Born in 1926 in Brooklyn, New York, to Phyllis and Peter Di Geronimo, Louise was raised in Asbury Park, New Jersey. It was there that she met Patrick, beginning a remarkable love story and life together. They raised three children: John Barone of Bend, Oregon; Patricia Barone Spontak of Melville, New York; and Peter Barone of Marlborough, Connecticut.
The family later settled in Shrewsbury, New Jersey, where Louise became the heart of her home and a beloved figure in the community. Together with Patrick, she owned and operated Love Lane Bridal in Red Bank, New Jersey, for 50 years. As the matriarch of the shop, she brought joy to thousands of brides and mothers of brides. With her keen eye for detail, genuine warmth, and sincere care, she helped countless young women feel confident, radiant, and unforgettable as they prepared for their proms and wedding, leaving a lasting impression on generations of families. Whether she was helping brides find the perfect gown or attending a family gathering, she carried herself with grace and elegance. Always polished and beautifully put together, she was known as a very classy woman who believed that a little sparkle and a warm smile could brighten any day. Louise and Patrick were blessed with nine grandchildren and 13 greatgrandchildren, all of whom brought them endless pride and joy.
Upon retirement, they moved to North Palm Beach, Florida, where they enjoyed traveling to visit their children and grandchildren. Retirement did not dim Louise’s spirit; for more than 20 years, she volunteered at the Jupiter Medical Center in Jupiter, Florida, most notably helping to run the Auxiliary’s popular Thrift Shop. True to her lifelong passion for retail and service, she continued serving people and strengthening community right up to her later years.
Louise will be laid to rest alongside Patrick at Arlington National Cemetery, where their story began before World War II and concluding side by side will endure for eternity. Theirs was a remarkable love story defined by devotion, service, and enduring partnership.
Details regarding the burial at Arlington National Cemetery will be shared once finalized. A ceremony at Arlington will be followed by a celebration of life to honor Louise’s extraordinary journey and the countless lives she touched.
Louise, known lovingly as Grandma, Mom, and Mommy, will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and eternally cherished by her family and all who knew her.
