With heavy hearts, the Miranda family announces the sudden loss of their humble warrior, Marcos A Miranda. Marcos lost his brief battle with cancer on May 25th, 2023 at the age of 66. His family would like to extend unlimited gratitude to the doctors, nurses, CNAs, and staff at Jupiter Medical Center who went above and beyond to make his and our lives as comfortable as possible under the circumstances.
Marcos had a strong presence in our community for 33 years. His children kept him busy with sports, music, and the arts. He recently retired from the School District of Palm Beach County after 32 years as a compassionate teacher with a twist of humor (H.L. Watkins and Suncoast) and evening ESOL teacher at Jupiter High. He was an admirable and high ranking 6th degree black belt with a dedicated life to the Japanese art of Aikido, specifically 30+ years with the Palm Beach Aikikai. In his short time of retirement, he had become passionate about Bonsai artistry (Lighthouse Bonsai Society) and an avid fan of Pickleball.
Most importantly, Marcos was a family man. Missing him dearly are: his wife of 30 years (Lori), his amazing sons Gabriel (Catia), Max (Ashton), Alexander, and Sam. His grandson will certainly miss his "Buelo!" Marcos also leaves behind his sister (Noemi), his Brother from Another Mother, George (Nancy), and many extended family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held in late July/early August, yet to be determined. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Palm Beach Aikikai, the Lighthouse Bonsai Society, or a charity of choice.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.howard-quattlebaum.com for the Miranda family.
