Marian (Cattaneo) Hardie-Robidoux, 100, of Palm Beach Gardens, originally from Queens NY, passed away Saturday, April 29 at Trustbridge Hospice Care, Jupiter Medical Center. She was a proud and loving mother who is survived by her three children: Robert Baldwin and his wife Diane, Patricia Hardie, Christopher Hardie and his wife Karen and their three children Michael, Stephanie and Allison. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Born in 1922 and growing up in the early 30s and 40s, Marian fell in love with the entertainment industry. Marian and her friends loved to watch the early movies and listen to the Big Bands; she especially loved Frank Sinatra. She loved to dance and spent hours dancing with friends, even dancing at the 1939 World’s Fair in New York. In her younger years while living in New York she was married to her first husband Robert Baldwin and later to her second husband Arthur Hardie. While in New York she worked as a talent booking agent before moving to Florida in the early 1960s. Once in Florida, Marian launched her career in real estate working for developer John D. McArthur, where she blossomed. She became a very successful realtor, eventually becoming the sales broker at Old Port Cove in North Palm Beach, a position she retired from in 1987. Marian spent many very successful years working in real estate as a single mother raising her three children, teaching them the value of a strong work ethic, honor, and integrity. In her retirement Marian met and married William Robidoux. Marian and Bill enjoyed each other’s company and spent their retired years travelling, visiting family, and growing their faith in God. Marian was very independent, with a take charge personality, always supportive and influential to many. She will be missed greatly.
A small gathering will be held at the Royal Palm Funeral Home and Memorial Garden cemetery, 5601 Greenwood Ave, West Palm Beach on Tuesday, May 2 at 10:00 am, where she will be interred with her late husband Bill Robidoux. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to Trustbridge Hospice Care, Jupiter Medical Center.
