With heavy hearts and profound love, we announce the passing of Martin Owen Martino, lovingly known as “Bud”, who departed this world peacefully in West Palm Beach, Florida. Born on May 19, 1943, in Dolton, Illinois, Bud lived a life defined by integrity, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to those he loved.
Bud is survived by his cherished partner, Grace, his beloved children Nicole (with wife Emily) and Eric (with wife Katherine), and his adored grandchildren Macie, Finley, and Enzo, each of whom brought tremendous pride and joy into his life. He also leaves behind his dear siblings David, Linda, and Karen, and a legacy of memories carried by extended family, friends, neighbors, and all who were fortunate to know him.
Bud was a proud United States Army veteran, having served his country with honor, humility, and pride, values that continued to guide his life well after his military service. Following his time in the Army, he built an extraordinary career as a master furniture finisher, serving South Florida’s community for over 50 years. A true craftsman, Bud’s hands transformed ordinary pieces of furniture into art, and his work stood as a testament to his skill, discipline, passion and dedication.
He was the devoted son of Illa and Otto Martino, whose love and example helped shape the foundation of the strong, kind-hearted man we remember today.
Those who knew Bud knew his smile, one that could light up a room, put strangers at ease, and reassure those close to him with its warmth and sincerity. He was known for his unshakable work ethic, infectious laugh, grounded wisdom, and a genuine nature that made people feel seen, heard, and valued. He was a rock for his family and a friend to many. Whether sharing a detailed story, lending a helping hand, or simply enjoying a quiet moment with loved ones, Bud lived fully and loved deeply.
Bud was a true fixture in his community, a man who touched countless lives with simple acts of kindness and a spirit that could never be dimmed. He leaves behind a legacy of humility, hard work, loyalty, and love that will live on in those who follow his example.
Services will be announced at a later date.
In honor of Bud’s lifelong love for animals, the family kindly asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League a cause dear to his heart.
Though Bud may be gone from our sight, his spirit, his stories, and the goodness he gave to the world will never be forgotten. He was and always will be, deeply loved
