

Mary Jane was born on August 6, 1932 to Amos and Mollie McCurley
In Jacksonville ,Illinois..
She was the 5th of seven siblings. (William McCurley, Louise McCurley Sneed, Amos (Buck) McCurley, Cy McCurley, Jack McCurley and Henry McCurley )
Mary Jane attended Jacksonville high school where she met her life long love and husband, Charles Grant. After graduation they married and in 1950 they founded the Grant School of Dance. The school flourished in Jacksonville for 23 years.
In 1973 Charles and Mary Jane moved to Boca Raton, Florida where
Charles accepted a position as a manager in the hospitality industry.
They moved to Boynton Beach and founded the
Char-Mar School of Dance company which for many years taught dance to school children in Palm Beach County.
In 2006, Charles and Mary Jane moved to Jupiter Florida.
Charles Grant died in 2007 and Mary Jane continued the school with the help of her daughters. As a principal in the company, she remained active in teaching and producing shows for Char Mar.
She retired but remained active in the community and family affairs.
She is survived by 3 daughters, 6 Grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
3 Daughters : Cheryl Grant Zielinski and husband, Greg, Sybil Grant Smith and husband, Scott, and Charla Grant Sramowicz and husband Steve.
6 Grandchildren: Grant and wife Jessica Linebaugh, and Lance Linebaugh, Brittany Smith Grantham and husband Karl, and Ryan Smith and wife Stephanie, and Molli and Makenna Sramowicz.
5 Great Grandchildren:
Rylee and Savannah Linebaugh, Harper and Kennedy Grantham, and
Layla Smith.
Mary Jane will always be remembered by her family and friends as beingwarm and thoughtful. She always was the life of the party and was the first on the dance floor and the last to leave.
Services for Mary Jane Grant will be held on Friday, Jan.6, 2017 at 3:00pm at the Jupiter First Church located at 1475 Indian Creek Prkwy, Jupiter, Fl.
It is the families wishes that in lieu of flowers , a donation to the
Dreyfoos School of the Arts foundation be made in her name.
