

Merl Thomas Hague, recently of Atlanta and Juno Beach, passed away peacefully in the early afternoon of April 19 in the presence of his wife, Jean Hague, and his family. Merl was born May 2, 1926, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and was approaching his 90th birthday. Merl had a long career with IBM Corporation serving in New York, San Jose, Atlanta, and also in Paris, with the IBM International World Trade Corporation.
Merl had received both his undergraduate and graduate degrees in Electrical Engineering from The University of Pennsylvania, and also served in The U.S. Navy during World War II. During his tenure with IBM, he was a man of great vision and able to contribute to a series of long range planning initiatives.
In addition to his important commitment to his wife and extended family, his personal passions and interests included extensive global travel, photography, sports, religion, and painting.
He is survived by his wife Jean, and three children; Karen (John) Regan of Methuen, Massachusetts, Ann (Cal) Slemp of New Canaan, Connecticut, and John (Margaret) Hague of Newport Beach, California. In addition, Merl was blessed with seven grandchildren; Katie (Andrew) Douglas, Kevin (Meredith) Slemp, Jennifer Slemp, Jackie Slemp, Thomas Hague, Tyler Hague, and Samantha Hague and a great granddaughter Ainsley Elizabeth Douglas.
A private family service and burial are scheduled for Saturday, April 23rd, at 4:00 pm with The Church of St. James the Less in Scarsdale, New York. His final resting place will be in an area designated for the Hague Family at a place they collectively worshipped for years.
The entire Hague Family is deeply appreciative of all the support provided Merl by many over a number of years, and in particular, the assistance and care of Elizabeth Campbell, Jackie Bellamy, and Tanisha Preston.
