Patrick A. O'Donnell Sr.

Patrick, known to most as Pat, was a caring and generous man who would give the shirt off his back to someone in need. He was a loving father and the kind of person who could fix just about anything. His family will remember him as the ultimate handyman “fixer-upper”, an avid golfer, and a fan of history and movies.

Pat proudly served his country for 10 years in the United States Army Reserves, achieving the rank of Captain.

Pat spent much of his life in New Jersey, attending Union Catholic High School and then Rutgers University where he served in the ROTC. He then built a career in banking and raised his family. When his children were young, you could often find him coaching their sports teams, practicing with them in the backyard, and working around the yard on various projects. His family could always count on him to know an obscure historical fact—or to tell the entire story behind it, “long story (not so) short.”

Pat moved to the Palm Beach area of Florida after retirement, where he enjoyed sunny days year-round. He always called it living in ‘paradise.’ He spent much of his time in one of a few places - the beach, the pool, or on the golf course. He had a wide circle of friends who could count on him.

Above all else, Pat loved his family. He was an incredibly proud father, telling all he met about his children. He is survived by his 3 children Jennifer Marie, Melissa Kathleen, and Patrick Anthony Jr. (and wife Alexa), and his cherished granddaughters, Brynn and Lainey O’Donnell. He is also survived by his older brother and best friend, Michael John O'Donnell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cristina O'Donnell and Patrick Joseph O'Donnell.

Those who loved Pat will remember his long-winded stories and even longer voicemails, his endless knowledge and vocabulary, his willingness to lend a hand, and the unmistakable way he made his presence known. His voice, his stories, and the memories he created will be deeply missed.

A private celebration of Patrick's life will be held by his children and family.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made in Patrick's memory to the American Red Cross Foundation.

Patrick will be remembered not simply for the life he lived, but for the love he gave, the lessons he taught, and the lasting impact he had on those fortunate enough to call him Dad, brother, family, or friend.
