Richard William Rockenbach, born April 4, 1931. Survived by his wife of 59 years, Doris Bares Rockenbach, and three sons, Mark, Bard and Kurt. Richard earned his mechanical engineering degree from New York University in 1952, and a master’s degree in aeronautical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Richard enjoyed a 35 year career in engineering, working first for United Aircraft Research Lab in Hartford, CT and then moving to North Palm Beach to work for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, where he quickly became a Senior Project Engineer. He never regretted moving to Florida, and made the most of the state’s beautiful weather and outdoor activities. He will be remembered for his dedication to his wife, his sons, his mother and for proving the value of hard work and integrity. He will also be remembered for his significant contributions to the aerospace industry and engine design.
