

Robert “Bob” Reiland was born in Chicago Illinois on October 7, 1924, and died July 9, 2016 at the age of 91. He had been living in the Palm Beach county area since 1969. He is survived by his brother John; sons Thomas and Richard; grandsons Ross, Todd, Reed; and great grandson Emerson.
Just prior to service in WW II he obtained a B.S. in Aeronautical Engineering from Tri—State University in Angola, Indiana. During WW II, he served in field artillery with the U.S. Army 112th Regimental Combat Team in the Philippines. Bob was called back to serve in Korea with the 40th Division where he served again in combat.
He had two successful and fulfilling marriages to Beth 49 years (deceased), and Barbara 17 years (deceased).
He had a long engineering career in strength analysis: airplanes, missiles, spacecraft, and helicopters until he retired in 1998. He was an active skin and SCUBA diver, instructor, spear-fisherman, and boater for 45 years. He researched and authored his book on Judaic & Christian theology: “Jesus and the Third Temple”.
Bob’s favorite bible quotes from the New Testament: Matthew 23:21-- “And whoso shall swear by the temple, sweareth by it, and by him that dwelleth therein.” Luke 21:28 -- “And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.”
Bob was an intelligent and nurturing gentleman. His story telling of his many life experiences were always filled with drama and wit. The world is a better place because of him. He will be missed. Bob’s words to sum up his life “I had a long, full life with no regrets.”
No funeral arrangements are planned, and his wishes are for his ashes to be spread on a reef in the Bahamas. The family requests no flowers or cards please. If you would like to make any donation, please give to your favorite charity, local Hospice, or veteran’s society.
