A loving mother and retired hairdresser, Sandy enjoyed the twilight of her early retired life in sunny South Florida, having moved to Palm Beach Gardens, FL in 2011, shortly after the passing of her late husband, James W. Hansen Sr. Though no longer a Pennsylvania resident, Sandy remained an avid Philadelphia sports fan, particularly passionate for the Philadelphia Phillies and Philadelphia Eagles. Having four children, Sandy spent much of her time cooking, entertaining and enjoying as much life as possible with them and her grandchildren. Sandy battled ALS for the last 18 months and was truly a strong warrior and fought everyday to live life to the fullest.
Sandy was predeceased by her brother Phillip Diduck and is survived by her sister Loretta Boesch, her daughter(s) Tara Dawkins and husband Ron, Stacey Parsons and husband Kirk and her son(s) James William and wife Lucia, and Michael Patrick and wife Kristi. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Aidan & Alyssa Parsons, Emma & James Hansen and Alexa & Zachary Hansen.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Friday, February 1st, 2019, at 11:00am at Howard Quattlebaum Funeral, Cremation and Event Center, 754 US Highway 1 North Palm Beach, FL 33408. Flowers are appreciated or you may make a donation in Sandy’s name to the ALS Association www.als.org.
