Sandra Meyer passed away peacefully on July 7, 2021 under the care of Hospice. Sandy was born in Mount Holly, New Jersey on January 17, 1937 to Dr. and Mrs. B.E. Thomas. She grew up in Douglaston, New York, attended Bayside High School and then Cornell University where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts. While at Cornell, she met her husband Bill (William) who she married on November 29, 1958 and loved dearly for over 62 years. Sandy lived an active life playing tennis with the Palm Beach Country Club and then PGA National for over 30 years. She was an avid artist and kept busy with two studios in Lake Park and Tequesta. Sandy and Bill loved to travel and proud to say they had visited all seven continents. Many of their days traveling were spent scuba diving and they have fond memories of dive trips with various groups and friends. They also spent their retirement days on their boat, Bountiful, traveling through the Bahamas, Florida Keys and other various spots. Sandy was very generous with her time and spent over 50 years with the Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League where she served on the Board of Governors and as President for many years. Sandy and Bill have lived in the Village of North Palm Beach for the past 58 years.
Sandy is survived by her loving husband, William J. Meyer (Bill), her daughters Daryl Meyer Hall of Delray Beach, Florida and Debbie Biedenharn (Joe) of Vero Beach, Florida, grandson Jaxson Hall and 2 granddaughters Alexandra and Eliza Biedenharn.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 1 PM, St. Patrick’s Church, 13591 Prosperity Farms Road, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Following the service, there will be a celebration of Sandy’s life in the parish hall.
