

Scott was born on September 24, 1956 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana to Dennis Martin Sherman and Sharon Aleece (Weigle) Sherman. Scott loved flying from an early age, soloing five airplanes on his sixteenth birthday. He proudly served our country in the United States Navy as an A-7 pilot on the USS Eisenhower and later was an instructor at NAS Meridian. He started his professional airline career with Eastern Airlines and then later became a pilot with American Airlines where he served for 27 years.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his former wife of 28 years Susan Sherman, children; Madison (Heather) Woo and Rebecca (Dan) Woo Floyd, grandchildren; Miles, Amelia, Vivian, Marshall, and Winston, sisters; Denise (Tripp) Tiller and Jean (David) Hoover, brothers; Kent (Patty) Sherman, and Terry (Ivonne) Sherman, nieces and nephews; Remick, Clint and Rese, Kelley, Lindsay and Adam, Travis and Derek, T.J., Rachel and Steven.
A private memorial mass was held on October 13, 2016. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
