Wayne LaVerne Lockmiller, 85, passed peacefully in his longtime home in North Palm Beach, on February 11, 2016, surrounded by his devoted and beloved companion, Carolyn and his caretaker, Adrienne Brown. He is survived by his children David Lockmiller and Sharon Walker and four grandchildren.
A native Floridian, born in South Bay on November 8, 1930, Vern was a teacher at Palm Beach Gardens High School for 38 years and a proud U.S. Navy veteran. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Florida State University and his Master’s Degree from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina. Mr. Lockmiller was respected and admired by his friends, students and neighbors, and he was a patriot who generously supported veterans’ causes.
A Memorial Service will occur at the South Florida National Cemetery, in Lake Worth, FL, on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at 10:30 am.
