To my cousins he was Uncle Al
And to me, he was my dad
He was a grandfather and a great grandfather
He loved dogs, golfing, the race track and shooting pool.
In fact, he was so good at pool, his winnings covered the down payment for our first family home.
He was the second oldest of six brothers and one tough sister.
He somehow provided for all seven of us with his
income at the time, later to be discovered his extracurricular pastime at the pool hall and the race track was helping out.
My dad loved telling stories. Most of them were true. Some of them, I just rolled my eyes.
He would have turned 95 in September
Rest In Peace
