Arthur Teske

It is with deep sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of Arthur, a beloved husband, father, brother and uncle. Art passed away peacefully at Lions Gate Hospital on December 30th surrounded by his wife, son and daughter-in-law. He will be greatly missed by his wife Leona, son Jamie (Jennifer), siblings Gerry, Eddie, Gertie, Wolfgang, Gus, Allan and Fred along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Art was predeceased by his parents Emil & Wanda (Martin) Teske, Lydia Teske, In-laws John & Erna Hadinger, and his sisters Eugenie, Laura and Evelyn.

Art was born in Poland in 1937 and moved to Canada with his family in 1952, eventually settling in Vancouver in the mid ‘60’s. Art was proud to have worked on many major construction projects in B.C. and Alberta. These included ski resorts, McMann Stadium, Porteau Cove Provincial Park along with numerous bridges and highways across both provinces. He was also a proud 50-year member of the Operating Engineers Local 115. Art retired in 2000 and enjoyed spending his free time with his friends and family in North Vancouver.

Respecting Art’s wishes there will be no funeral. At a later date his family will host a “Come-And-Go Tea” at his residence to be followed in August by a “Celebration of Life” at the annual Teske Family Reunion in Alberta.
