With heavy hearts the family of Barbara Trimble announce her passing on Tuesday, March 24th, following years of declining health. Mom passed away peacefully with her daughter Darlene at her side. Mom was a dedicated Wife, Mother, Sister, Aunt and friend to all that got to know her throughout her life. Mom was predeceased by her husband of 60 years Charlie, her first born son Christopher, her parents, two brothers and one sister. Survived by her children Michael (Kim), Darlene (Brian), Joanne (Brian), Jennifer (Paul); her grandchildren Laura, Chelsea, Christopher, Renee-Marie, Ashleigh, and Megan (with their respective spouses). Mom was blessed with 6 step-grandchildren. But the true joy in her last few years was the blessing of her very precious great granddaughters. Mom loved them all fiercely and they brought a quick smile to her face when they came to visit her. Mom is also survived with great love for her sister Pat, sister-in-laws Bea and Arlene, along with many nieces and nephews. Mom had many long lasting friendships, from her childhood through to her world travels, reaching as far as Australia, which she was able to enjoy with her husband Charlie. Fast friends that remember her with love are Grace & Don, Mavis, Maxine, Pam, Joan and Vi. After 50+ years, Mom was moved from the family home in North Vancouver to Amica Edgemont where she met Joan and Vi, Sanaah, Dominque and their connection was deep and meaningful. Many moments of laughter were shared over Wii Bowling and Bingo where our Mom was known to win quite often. She was also well known for her delivery of a chocolate bar to those she passed along the hallway. Mom was moved to Amica White Rock last October, we knew the move was hard on Mom but she was made to feel so welcome by fellow residents at the common favourite dining table, Bettye, Charlotte, Ann, Mary, Pat, Ken and Susan and many others. It was a popular spot not just for meals but to sit and chat like a traditional family dinner table. There were bus trips and outings that she was able to share right up till February. Our family wishes to thank with deep appreciation Dr. Cynthia Clark, Dr. Martin Lebl and most especially Dr. Justin Lee for all that they did to help keep Mom comfortable these last years. We would also like to acknowledge Carolina and Michelle from Livingwell Homecare Services who took such good care of our Mom while she was still in her home. A very special acknowledgement goes to the team at Amica White Rock on the 3rd floor for their remarkable, unlimited, compassionate and empathetic care of our Mother to the very end. Mom met some very special care workers at Amica White Rock. Their devotion and attention to her helped our family immensely as we worked together to keep her comfortable. Their dedication will be forever remembered. Due to COVID-19 details of a small gathering will be provided at a later date when social distancing is no longer necessary. Our parents were very generous and philanthropic with many charities over the years, so in keeping with this what we would wish for is that you please consider, in lieu of flowers, and cards, to donate to her everlasting memory to Lions Gate Hospital Foundation or BC Children’s Hospital.
