Sadly, Bea passed away at South Granville Park Lodge the morning of January 15th. She was predeceased by her husband Tom, brothers Dick and David, and sister Marjorie. She is survived by sons Lee and Scott (Janet), and nephew Greg.
Bea was born in the small town of Chilco BC as her father had moved the family there attempting to avoid the Spanish Flu. Shortly after her birth they packed up moved to Dartmouth Nova Scotia. Much to her dismay her father then decided to move the family back to BC in the early 1930's, and settled on a dairy farm in Aldergrove. Bea lived there until she was old enough to move to Vancouver on her own. She worked a number of jobs in the city before settling in at the Owl Drugs, at Main and Hastings ,a job she really enjoyed.
At the end of the war, she met, and later married Tom. They build a house together in the Oakridge area and raised two sons. She remained in the home for over 70 years and became involved the Oakridge Seniors Centre in later life, until it closed for the mall remodeling. She made a lot of special friends there.
She and Tom did a great deal of travelling worldwide, including many memorable bus trips to Nevada with "the Greeks". They also spent Octobers in Waikiki meeting up with friends there for over 40 years.
A special thanks to the nurses and staff at South Granville Park Lodge.
