Mom was born in Lethbridge, Alberta, eldest daughter of James and Mildred Brown. Her earliest years were spent in Alberta before moving to BC. She Graduated from North Van High in 1945 and continued her education and graduated from the Vancouver School of Art (Emily Carr). In 1951 Mom joined the RCAF and was stationed in Ontario and Quebec. She was an adventurer , full of life and courage. Just a few years later, in 1953, she was transferred to France, 2 (F) Wing. This is where she met Corporal Humphrey Clement Linton of the RAF. It was at a beach party on the French Riviera, where he rescued her from a thug.
They married soon thereafter and started a family, twin girls. When they returned to Canada, she was due with a third daughter. Settling in familiar North Vancouver, she worked at Kodak till retirement. (Her many nephews and nieces can attest to the picture taking freak: Auntie Bev). Once Beverley retired, she found her calling as a volunteer at Lions Gate Hospital. When her husband passed away, she ventured south to White Rock, volunteering at Peace Arch Hospital. She was so generous, caring and patient; that really - this is where she found her calling and made many friends.
Other than her family being her priority, Moms passion was travelling. It began with the Air Force where she experienced a lot, and had great stories to tell. She saw the Great Wall of China, sailed over the Serengeti desert in a balloon, floated on a junk in India and visited Russia in the eighties. There was an annual trek somewhere and she always had great company, thank you Uncle Bertie!
Bev was also a committed patron of the arts, attending many live theatre shows, supporting local artists and donating generously over the years. She is survived by her daughters Christine, Catherine (Ernie) and Janice, Also was blessed with 5 grandchildren, Stefani (Dave), Jordan, Jaclyn (Jacob), Conrad and Aydan, plus two great grandchildren, Adele and Thomas. Everything is MO BETTA, We love and miss you always. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, June 10 from 11-3 at The Cambridge, 15270 17 Ave, Surrey, in the social room on the main floor, casual and relaxed as mom would want it. In Lieu of flowers please donate to your local hospital auxiliary or your local theatre company, in her name.
