

Beverley Anne O'Brien, age 92, of North Vancouver, passed away peacefully on Thursday April 23, 2026 at her home in Sunrise Lonsdale Square, North Vancouver.
She was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on January 5, 1934, to parents Frank and Elizabeth Polson
Beverley lived in Saskatoon, Hamilton, Ontario, Winnipeg and Vancouver. In each of her new places she found a way to enjoy just the right balance of mischief and adventure! At the University of British Columbia Beverley joined the Alpha Gama Delta Sorority and earned her BA in English and History. She met her husband, Barney O’Brien at the UBC MUSSOC (Musical Society). They were married December 21, 1956. They spent a short time in Trenton Ontario and then made their permanent home in North Vancouver. There, Beverley became very involved in Highlands United Church, she ran the Flea Market for over 40 years, and was proud to be part of the P.E.O. sisterhood for 56 years. Beverley loved the use of correct grammar, chocolate, classical music, travel and spending time with family at the cottage in Qualicum.
Beverley is predeceased by her husband, Barney, on October 25, 2004, her nephews Calvert and Drew, and sister, Virginia Miller.
She is survived by her three daughters, Kelsey (Andre), Karen (Douglas), and Patricia “Trish” (Ian) her 6 Grandchildren, Stacy (Austin), Hayley (Peter), Allison (Will), Neil (Andrea), Jackson and Kennedy, her 4 Great Grandchildren, Hannah and Jacob, Elise and Max, her niece Leigh and her nephew Ross (Linda).
We thank the Sunrise staff for their love and heartfelt care for our mum. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
The Memorial service will be held on Tuesday May 12th at 1:30 pm, at Highlands United Church. 3255 Edgemont Blvd, North Vancouver, V7R 2P1.
