Passing after a prolonged battle with cancer, Carol is predeceased by her parents Charles and Kate, her husband Larry and her son Donald. She is survived by her brother Rob, her children David (Diana) and Laurie (Mathew), grandchildren Kristy (Mat), Katie, Ted (Jeryn) and Zachary (Paige), and great grandson Liam.
Carol's family moved from Saskatoon to Vancouver when her father fought in WW 2. She enjoyed an active childhood excelling at athletics including softball and basketball. She attended John Oliver and King Edward Secondary schools before marrying Larry in 1958.
A brief clerical career at BC Electric ended with the arrivals of three children. Carol cherished her roles as mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Carol loved books. Studying at Langara, Carol became a library technician in 1975, leading to a lengthy career at UBC’s Law Library. She also served at Ryerson (Pacfic Spirit) Church, whose library and community thrift sales benefited greatly from her passionate commitment.
Caring in the service of others, Carol was intensely private in regards to herself. She faced her cancer diagnosis with determination, battling the disease courageously right to the end.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Canadian Cancer Society.
