Diane was born in Vancouver on May 31st, 1949, to Ruby & Donald Dorland. She is survived by her brothers Bryan & Donny and sister Dawna.
Diane was a mother to Rick, Randene (Alistair), Reanne (Edward) & Grandmother to Kalel & Maysia. She raised her children with love and devotion in Burnaby with her husband of 53 years Bruno.
Diane had the gift of the gab and would spend hours talking with her loved ones. Everyone would turn to her for advice and guidance. She was always there to set her friends and family on the right path & teach them life lessons. She was the rock of the family, our true north.
Diane lived for fall days and getting prepared for her favourite holiday Halloween. She had decorations for every holiday ensuring everything was picture perfect. She was a talented sewer & baker and spent hours creating and coming up with new ideas. In her younger years she had fun with family and friends bowling and playing baseball, and as of late never missed a ball game on tv. She also was a trained hairdresser. She loved music, enjoyed playing cards with her family, and teaching her grandchildren new things. She set examples for her family and friends, creating traditions that will live on forever. Diane was unique, truly one in a million.
“You will never be forgotten; your memory is forever in our hearts. Your love carries on in your grandchildren’s smiles & laughter. Your voice remains in our minds, and your words of wisdom keeps us strong. May you rest in peace. We love you the whole world. Until we meet again”.
Diane was an extremely private person therefore the service will be held for immediate family members only. Friends wishing to honor Diane are invited to make a donation in her name to BC Children’s Hospital.
