I worked with Don in both the New Westminster ICBC office and at 808 Nelson. In New West, Don and I were usually the last people to leave. Once, assuming I was gone , Don put on the office alarm on when he left. When I got up from my desk to walk down the corridor the alarm went off LOUDLY, and I almost jumped out of my skin. The next day I expressed my annoyance which Don found amusing. I threatened I would get back at him in some way, but the opportunity never arose. However, after that incident we made sure whether the other one was still in the office when leaving.
Don discussed many legal issues about his files with me in New Westminster. By the time he came to the Vancouver office he was more experienced but would still drop in for chats. I would tease him about his sartorial splendor which he took a lot of pride in. Don made a lot of effort to promote camaraderie at 808 Nelson and always tried to include everyone. He was a good natured complicated guy with knowledge on many subjects. He was very proud of his Italian heritage.
I was deeply saddened to hear of his passing.

Don articled with our law firm, but I also knew him as a fearless reporter for the Outlook. He always had a strong passion for justice. He was a unique personality with a dry sense of humor. God Speed Don.

I cherish the times when we crossed paths in North Van and especially when we saw each other at the VIFF Closing Gala in '17 with my lady Darlene Cromwell! RIP My friend.

I got to know Don when he worked at the New West office back in 2014. He was always ready to chat about housing or local politics. He added a lot of color to an otherwise grey office environment.

He was tenacious lawyer but mostly I will miss his antics and "life" stories.

I am deeply sorry for your loss.

I worked with Don at ICBC in New Westminster. He was a hard working lawyer that enjoyed his work. I’m so sorry for your loss.
