Dorothy Fee (nee Thackeray), 97, of Langley, B.C., peacefully passed away on September 27, 2020, after a short illness. Dorothy was born in Regina, Saskatchewan, and at the age of 19 joined the Royal Canadian Navy and was stationed in Halifax, Nova Scotia, during WWII where she met the love of her life, Cliff Fee. They married in Halifax and moved to Vancouver after the war, where they raised three children. They moved to the U.S. for a few years but came back to B.C. and stayed.
Dorothy had a full life with a close family and many dear friends. Prior to retirement she worked as Switchboard Operator for the B.C. Telephone Company and later for The Bayshore Inn Hotel. Once she retired she took the opportunity to travel to far off places such as the United Kingdom, Caribbean, Israel and Greece. Until the current pandemic, she had a busy social life: she drove herself to the Senior Centre five days a week for lunch and card games, and she also went to Aquafit two days a week. We could hardly keep up with her.
Dorothy is survived by her son, Robert Fee (Sheila); daughter, Burnette Bouffard (Bob); daughter, Pamela Fee; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Dorothy was the family matriarch and rock. She was loved and cherished by her family and friends, and will be missed all the days of our lives.
