It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Douglas Richard Obana on February 11, 2025, at Burnaby General Hospital.
Doug was born in North Vancouver on September 3, 1954, and spent his childhood in Abbotsford. He attended BCIT and worked as a cost accountant, later managing his own business, Doug’s Rubbish Removal. Doug will be fondly remembered for his unwavering positivity, generosity, and strong work ethic. He was always there to lend a helping hand. Doug lived life on his own terms and pursued his passions with enthusiasm. In his younger days, he enjoyed an active lifestyle, including racquetball, windsurfing, bowling, and running. He cherished time spent with his family, especially the joy of family dinners. Doug leaves behind a legacy of kindness and a positive impact on all who knew him. He will be dearly missed
