Elven was born in Reading England, February 19, 1945. He was named after his dad Elven, who was killed in the Second World War five months before he was born.
He and his mother came to Canada when Elven was two. They first visited Manitoba farm country where his dad grew up. They then settled in New Westminster BC where Elven lived the rest of his life.
Elven was always busy with many projects. He loved his flower garden and was an artist, painting beautiful mountain scenes and landscapes. He loved music especially jazz. He was good at fixing things and doing carpentry in his home where he had lived from the age of 2 until his passing. His life work was with the Land Titles office in New Westminster where several of his co-workers became lasting friends. A very smart man. He was always interested in other people and the things happening in their daily lives. He was so very kind and caring. He was very close to his big dog Kobo, who sadly passed away from cancer.
In later years he gallantly fought several illnesses and passed away on February 7th, 2023 – 12 days shy of his 78th birthday.
We will miss him and his wonderful smile very much!
