July 16, 1991 − May 31, 2017
With our deepest love, we say goodbye to a son, brother, singer, songwriter, musician, and friend.
With heavy hearts we mourn the passing of Erik Olufson, a beautiful, radiant soul who was taken far
too soon. His kind and light hearted ways brought life and laughter to all who knew him and he never
judged a soul. Born in North Vancouver, Erik grew up biking, hiking and skiing our North Shore
mountains. He spent summers of fun on Gambier Island. He sang before he talked. He loved hanging
out with his buddies and jamming. He had his own unique style and sense of humor. He attended
Argyle Secondary where he sang in the choirs. He was an exceptional singer for rock bands Mad
Shadow, The Led Zeppelin Show, Residential Bear among others and toured extensively across the
country. Currently, he was working with two new bands recording. He had a golden mane, golden
heart, and a golden voice. He will forever live on in the memories and hearts of
his friends and family (parents) Kris and Drew Olufson and (brother) Duncan.
In Erik’s own words:
"Don’t be in no hurry keep your friends inside your heart cause one day you may have to part"
A Celebration of Life will be held at The Royal Canadian Legion, 1630 Lynn Valley Road, North
Vancouver on Erik’s birthday, July 16th. Come by between noon and 6.
No flowers requested. If desired please make a donation to “Music Heals” in Erik’s name.
