Ernest John Bremner

John passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Valerie, his children Michael (Sarah Sinanan) and Kelly (Darcy Taylor), grandchildren Isabel, Nadya, Emilia and Anderson, brothers Dennis, Brian and Gordon and sisters Barbara and Linda. John was born in Sussex, England. He immigrated to Canada in 1947 with his mother,a war bride, brother and sister. He was raised on a farm in Fort Macleod, Alberta. John graduated from the University of Alberta in Civil Engineering in 1967. During his career he worked at Associated Engineering Services, at the Corporation of Delta as Deputy Engineer,later as Municipal Engineer and at the District of North Vancouver as Director of Engineering for 18 years. John ended his career as Executive Director and Registrar of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of BC. In retirement John enjoyed an active life golfing, skiing, curling and hiking. He enjoyed ski weeks and golfing weeks with his buddies where he put his cooking skills to use. John loved to travel and spent hours planning the next trip. His greatest pleasure was time spent with grandchildren, cheering them on at every opportunity. He will be deeply missed.

A memorial service is planned April 5, 2 pm at Mt Seymour United Church. In lieu of flowers donations to the BC Cancer Foundation is appreciated. The family thank the Staff of the BC Cancer Agency, Dr. Walton-Knight and the North Shore Palliative Care team.
