Farrokh was born on September 21, 1960 in Sanandaj in the Kurdistan province of Iran. He married Vida Shahghabi in 1983, and had his first child, Faraz, in 1984 in Tehran. Together, they immigrated to Ontario, Canada in 1988. In 1990, his second child, Ronak, was born. After 9 years in Toronto, they packed their belongings and drove across Canada to move to Vancouver where they have resided since.
An adoring husband, eternally loving father, and beloved brother and son, Farrokh was known for his generous heart, positive and fun-loving nature, and his unequivocal sense of humor. He loved to cook and feed the people he cared for, to be out in nature and to make his loved ones laugh. His energy was captivating and those who met him were drawn to him. It was always quickly noticed that Farrokh had a precious ability to see a person's needs and offer his help generously and genuinely. For his family, his devotion knew no bounds and the love he received, he multiplied in return.
In 1997, in coming to Vancouver, Farrokh chose to first live in North Vancouver. He said that the mountains felt like home, the air was fresh and would tell his family to breathe deeply when stepping out. It is here that filled his soul, and it is here that now rests it.
A graveside service for Farrokh will be held Wednesday, June 8, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Capilano View Cemetery, 1490 3rd Street, West Vancouver, BC V7S2Y2.
