With love and gratitude, we celebrate the remarkable life of Florence “Flo” Harrah, who passed away peacefully at home in Burnaby on September 9, 2025, just as she wished, at the age of 95.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Newton Harrah, on June 29, 2019, after 67 wonderful years of marriage. Together they built a family rich in love and treasured memories.
Flo was a devoted mother to her four daughters, Kathie Balneaves (Dave), Leslie Harrah, Debbie Campa (Bernard), and Susan Kirkby (Dave). She was a proud Gramma/Grandma/Nana to seven grandchildren: Darryl Moore (Shara), Kevin Moore, Dawn Shamsher (Deen), Michael Campa (Jenna), Danielle Campa, Jordan Kirkby, and Tyler Kirkby (Rosa). She also delighted in her seven great-granddaughters: Addison and Chloe Moore, Danae (Kaden) and Desirae Shamsher, Alice Kirkby-Hall, Aubrey and Lyla Kirkby.
Flo lived her life to the fullest, always on her own terms. She embraced every chapter with spirit, strength, and independence, and her quick wit and sense of humour brought laughter and smiles to all who knew her.
She was especially proud of her years with the Burnaby School Board, serving as a noon hour supervisor at McPherson Junior High and Burnaby South High School from 1976 until her retirement in 2000.
Flo will be deeply missed and forever cherished by her family and friends.
A private family gathering will be held to honour her life.
