He married Bonnie Barbara Newman in 1957 and ended up having four children, Lyle, Cary, Tracy and Lisa. Gerald was a hardworking successful businessman who had a strong sense of family connection. He always encouraged all of his family to stay in contact with relatives. That was very big with him. He also was a very big proponent of researching his family roots and hence did a deep dive into genealogy which he also encouraged all of his family to do same. He was extremely proud of his Norwegian heritage and even started his own business; For Vikings only and Those Who like to Pretend. He was loved and respected by many and a true inspiration and role model of how to be a great man. Anyone who knows him well would contest to the fact that he was a true Viking. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
