Gladys worked as a department manager at Eaton’s before her marriage to Duncan Fraser in 1947. After his tragic death in 1971, she resumed her career.
Gladys often visited and helped her close knit family and friends. She enjoyed gardening, flower arranging, crafts, bowling and travelling.
She and her second husband Stanley McBride married in 1998. Their hobbies included visiting family, bowling and travelling, especially to the Island, U.K., Hawaii and Alaska.
The McBrides latterly lived at Mulberry Park, Burnaby, and after Stan’s passing in 2017, Gladys resided at Nicola Lodge, Coquitlam.
Auntie Gladys will be fondly remembered for her kind and gentle ways and lovely sense of humour by her nieces Doreen (Bill) Cowie, Linda (Stan) Gorle, Gail (Ken) Summers and nephews Bruce (Robbie) Lorimer, David (Kathy) Whiskin and Larry (Lori) Whiskin and their respective families.
She is also kindly remembered by stepchildren Gary (Judi) McBride, Sandra (Ronnie) Carlisle and Lorraine Donnelly and their respective families.
The family wish to thank the residents and staff of both Mulberry Park and Nicola Lodge for their friendship and care towards Gladys.
She was a lovely lady, much admired in every aspect of her long life who gently slipped away with her niece by her side.
