It was time, the sun was shining on her for the last time. Gloria Agnes Volrich, 90 years young passed peacefully with her husband of 70 years, Daniel Volrich by her side on Saturday October 28 2017. Gloria’s granddaughters Angie and Ryanne were both grateful to be with her to say goodbye.
Gloria is survived by her granddaughter Angie Marshall, spouse Glenn great grandchildren Béa & Colten of Squamish; granddaughter Ryanne Volrich, spouse Dean, great grandchildren Karli & Taylor of Penticton. Along with many relatives through out BC and California. Gloria will now join the others who we have lost over the years, including her brothers, sister and beloved son Danny. Gloria was a long standing member of the Maple Leaf Chapter #19, Order of the Eastern Star.
‘It was like Grama planned it so we could all be there. What will we miss most? Maybe her dark glasses, headbands and roller skates or that she always had gum when you needed it. Or maybe that she could talk to you on the phone for hours about nothing at all. Heaven will never be the same. We are all so blessed to have had her in our lives. She taught us how to laugh, love and how to make rice crispy squares.’
A Celebration of Life will be held for Gloria at a later date.
The family would like to extend a special thank-you to the staff at the Kiwanis Care Centre in North Vancouver and to all that helped us along the journey to ensure Gloria had the best care.
The family has asked in lieu of flowers - to take that extra moment in each day to share a friendly smile with someone - as Gloria often did.
(p.s.-the Grouse Grind was no problem for Gloria in her 70’s)
Arrangements under the direction of First Memorial Funeral Services, North Vancouver, BC.
