Gordie was great guy. We grew up in Edmonton right across the street from each other. Fortunately before his illness set in he made it back to Edmonton two years in a row.   He got a hotel room on his beloved  Whyte Avenue.  We’d laugh and laugh well into the nights at different venues. I think of him often.   He had a great love of his wife and family.   And spoke of them often.   Miss you Gord and we will meet again ! RIP

I only found out a few days ago of Gord's passing.  we worked together at Tilden Rent A Car here in Edmonton and also one or two summers in Jasper circa 1973-74.  Our work crew was very small so  as well as being co-employees we became good friends. When the end of the work day came we would pack up our Hibachi and fishing gear  and head out to a local lake. We never did catch many fish but shared many stories and a whole lot of laughs. 
After Gord moved to Vancouver he would always come visit me whenever he came back to Edmonton.  I will miss you.

I didn't know Gordie long - only the past 6 months while visiting Parkview at Youville Residence.  I will fondly recall music and art therapy and by far the most amazing moment when handed a harmonica and you played it!  I will think of you with every train whistle.  God speed Gordie. I hope you are at peace. You will be remembered by many.

Gordie and I grew up right across the street from each other ! We had terrific childhoods. Even as a kid he was kind and considerate! About eight years ago he would come back to Edmonton, get a nice hotel on whyte avenue and stay about three days. He would walk all over the south side , revisiting old neighbourhood memories.   Hazledean shopping centre, the house he grew up in and then he and I would virtually spend two days just living on whyte ave.  Some many restaurants, beer houses and just talking for hours about the old days.  It was so great. He did this for three years and after he went home the last time I never heard from him again.  He loved his wife and family very very much and told me so very often. He loved his dog and the long long walks they took every day together.  I’m sad to hear of his passing.   I will always have such found memories of Gord ! Rest In Peace my great friend and we will meet again.  Love you and thanks for so many childhood memories.
