It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Harvey William Hill on March 3, 2026, following a brief illness.
Harvey was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario where he graduated from Humberside Collegiate and eventually earned his Chartered Accountant designation. He began his professional career at Smith Nixon, Chartered Accountants in Toronto, where he soon became a partner. In 1975, Harvey met his wife Renata and they moved to Vancouver where he acquired an accounting practice in West Vancouver, which he successfully operated until his retirement in 2020. Shortly after their move, they also welcomed their daughters, Andrea and Laura.
Harvey pursued many interests, including, travelling, skiing and gardening. He was a lifelong member of the West Vancouver Rotary Club and valued the time spent with friends at the now defunct, Park Royal Hotel Pub. An avid golfer, he spent many years dedicated to the sport.
Harvey was predeceased by his parents Elisabeth and William Hill, and his sister, Margot. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Renata, his daughters Andrea (Serdar) and Laura (Frank), his niece Susie Wang-Moore, and grandchildren Tristan, Aiden and Holland.
Our family wishes to express sincere gratitude to the nursing staff at Lions Gate Hospital for the exceptional care Harvey received during his final weeks.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 8, from 2 – 4 PM at the Gleneagles Golf Course Clubhouse. In lieu of flowers, donations to Lions Gate Hospital or the Rotary Foundation would be appreciated.
