Heather Patricia Parr

Heather passed away peacefully on November 21, 2024, with her loving family nearby.

Heather was predeceased by her parents, Elsie and Lew MacVicar. She is survived by husband Tom, sons Michael (Kristi) and Sean (Gail), and five grandchildren, Lachlan, Severen, Finnegan, Oliver and Casey.

Heather was born in Vancouver on November 1, 1941, moved to Australia with her parents when she was 9, back to Vancouver at age 11. She graduated from Kitsilano High School and continued her education at St. Paul’s Hospital where she became a lab technician. She then worked in Baie Comeau, Quebec, Oshawa, Ontario and Toronto where she met Tom. They were married in 1965. In 1969 they moved to Vancouver then North Vancouver, where they raised their sons.

Heather loved family gatherings and travelling. She and Tom enjoyed many cruises, road and destination trips, visiting over 30 countries. Over the years, Heather enjoyed activities like painting, yoga and aerobics. She also trained as a pre-school teacher and worked with many kids.

Many thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff who cared for Heather at Lions Gate Hospital and North Shore Hospice. They were wonderful. A donation to the Lions Gate Hospital Foundation would be gratefully received.

A private gathering of family and friends to celebrate Heather’s life will be held in the near future.
