Herb lost his hard fought battle with cancer on his 90th birthday. Born in Berlin he emigrated to Canada in 1955 and settled on the North Shore in 1958. His passion was sailing and he built 2 boats in his back yard in the late 60’s and early 70’s. As well as being an avid sailor, he was active in many outdoor activities, skiing, cycling, hiking and kayaking, to name a few.
Herb is predeceased by his brother Klaus, mother Gertrude and wife Olga. He is survived by his daughter Elsie with grandsons Aaron and Kevin, and by his son Arthur (Rose).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Herb’s memory to the BC Cancer Foundation.
