Passed away on Monday, December 2nd, 2024, at the age of 66, surrounded by the love of her children.
Born in Santiago, Chile, and raised in the coastal town of Viña del Mar, Ingrid’s fondest childhood memories were of mischievous days spent with her younger brother, Boris, at the home of their beloved grandmother, affectionately known as Mami Coco.
In 1975, at the age of 18, Ingrid made the bold decision to immigrate from Chile to Canada. In 1976, she met the love of her life, Edmundo Ernesto Reyes, and together they settled in North Vancouver, where they joyfully welcomed their son, Gabriel, and daughter, Marlen.
Ingrid will be forever remembered as a loving partner, devoted mother, cherished sister, and loyal friend. Her life was defined by selflessness and compassion, always giving of herself with a heart full of kindness. Ingrid had a remarkable ability to connect with people from all walks of life, making everyone feel valued and accepted. Her passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of all who knew her, but her memory will continue to inspire and uplift those whose lives she touched.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at BC Cancer, as well as the palliative care team at Lions Gate Hospital, for their exceptional compassion, support, and care throughout Ingrid’s illness. A special thank you goes to Dr. Adam Chruscicki, whose expertise and unwavering kindness provided much-needed comfort during a difficult time. His dedication will always be remembered with great appreciation.
A private family service will be held on December 21st at First Memorial Society Chapel, where Ingrid will be laid to rest beside her beloved Edmundo Ernesto Reyes."
