June 13, 1926 – January 11, 2018
Irene, a long-time resident of North Vancouver, passed away January 11, 2018 at North Vancouver in her 92nd year.
Predeceased by her brother George (1987), her daughter Shelley (2010), survived by her sons Gerry, Stephen (Kelly), and John (Kimberly), grandchildren Trevor, Jamie, and Alex, nieces Linda and Joan and many relatives.
Irene graduated from University of Saskatchewan with a BA in Biology. She pursued her interest in biology prior to settling into a homemaking career.
Irene loved skiing, reading, entertaining, tending the family backyard garden and canning, and was particularly fond of dinners outside at the picnic table. Always quick to lend a helping hand (many hands make light work was a favourite saying) and keeping things on the straight and narrow by graceful determination. We will always cherish your wisdom, your strength and your kindness. Mom, you will live forever in our thoughts and hearts.
The family thanks the doctors and staff of Evergreen House, residential care facility, for their care and support over the last three years.
