I first met Jim in grade four at Lonsdale Elementary School. Our grade four teacher was Miss White who called Jim and I, the "Gold Dust Twins".  We were always playing around, trying to have some school boy fun, which occasionally got us in trouble, with the very lovely Miss White.

At recess we played marbles and after lunch and after school was baseball.  Jim loved his baseball.

Jims dad was my dentist for over twenty five years. He was the reason I still have all my teeth albeit with caps and fillings.  The bubble gum in the baseball cards was the reason I  really needed a good dentist. Jims mom was Laurence's receptionist for some time and I remember her as a very nice lady.  I had a few of her lunches in their family home on occasion. 

One Saturaday  Jim and I decided to take our bikes over to Stanley Park and we decided to rent a row boat  on Lost Lagoon.
I  was on the oars when suddenly I managed to  bonk some guy on the back of his head as he was relaxing with head over the side enjoying the company of his girl friend.  Jim and I moved along quickly after that as he had a few choice words for us. Jim  should have warned me I was getting too close.

I tried to convince Jim to show up to one of our high school reunions and his reply was, "he hated North Van High and after he graduated,  he went up and poured salt all over it". 

Jim was a great guy with a great sense of humor.  He will be missed by many. 

My sincerest condolences to Jim's family , may his memory always be a blessing.
