It is with broken heart that I write to honour your memory my dear friend Joanne, at 5:20 pm yesterday, Heaven gained another angel. I know you felt us and heard us, your framily, as we stood beside you...the room was filled with love and sorrow as we held your hand and said goodbye for the last time. you were true salt of the earth, a tough exterior but to those who knew and loved you, we knew the kind, thoughtful and caring person you were. Yes you were a good person. A beautiful soul taken far far too soon. I will truly miss our morning coffees together, talking about everything under the sun...I wish there was more we could've done...you fought a tough battle but God had other plans for you. We will honour your memory always...we will miss you...rest easy now my friend and as we said to each other...family is not always blood...sometimes the best family are the ones you choose

To the staff at St Paul's Hospital (doctors, nurses and surgeons in ER, ICU and CSICU and social workers) thank you all for the care and compassion you showed not just for Joanne but for Tim and I as well, you all went above and beyond to do everything in your power to save Joanne's life. You are an amazing team and we couldn't have asked for more. We know you did everything humanly possible but God needed another Angel more.

Jo, please rest easy now, no more pain, let me know what Everest looks like from Heaven...we will ALL miss you, love you and keep your memory in our hearts forever.
