Born in Vancouver April 5, 1927, John died October 4, 2021 at the age of 94 with his family by his side. A true pioneer, John lived his life with honour, courage and determination. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, adventurous spirit and loving manner. John spent is early years in North Vancouver and Ladysmith and returned to Vancouver to attend Lord Bing High School and UBC, graduating in Forestry in 1950. John operated Tidal Log for 50 years, working primarily in the Lower Mainland and was an especially talented faller. John was an avid rugby player in his youth and spoke fondly of his time with the Ex-Brits and the Vancouver Rowing Club. Predeceased by Helen, his wife of 50 years, parents (Daniel and Alice) and sister Dawn Doiron, John is survived by his daughter Janet (Michael), son John Jr., his loving grandchildren and many treasured friends and extended family.
