August 12, 1932 - September 9, 2022
COLEMAN, Kathleen (Kay) passed away peacefully on September 9 2022, surrounded by her loving and devoted family. The eldest of nine, she was born in Saskatchewan to Fred and Lena Storoschuk and they moved as a young family to BC. Kay grew up in Abbotsford where she attended school, enjoyed roller-skating, then worked in offices and shops and was married in 1952.
While raising four children she kept a beautiful home and garden and volunteered with Girl Guides. She sewed, crocheted, and knit beautiful clothes. She was a great baker, and dancer, (she loved to jive), and was a voracious reader. Kay also enjoyed traveling throughout the West Coast, Hawaii, Mexico, the Caribbean, and much of Europe. She retired after working in the office of Venice Bakery in North Van for 20 years.
Predeceased by her parents, Kay is also predeceased by her siblings Buck, Erma, Gene (Vicky), and David (Marlene). She is sadly missed by her siblings Bill, Karen, Shirley (Don), Darlene (David), cousins, and many nieces and nephews. She was such a blessing and a beloved mother to Diane, Bob (d) (Susan) (d), Nancy (Steve Patitucci), and Carol (Robert Moser). She adored her grandchildren Brandy, Kelly (Joel), Brandon, Brittany, and Richard, and great-grandchildren River and Cove. She lived a life of fierce love for her family and full of passion for her garden.
Heartfelt thanks to the caring people at Inglewood Care Centre. There will be a small family celebration of life. If inclined to give, in lieu of flowers please consider donations to the Alzheimer Society of BC. in Kay’s memory.
