My sincere condolences to Kay's family.  Her beautiful, elegant caring ways endured her to me.  I can only imagine the legacy she has left which will be seen in her family.  
I have known Kay since 1998 when we met through her cousin, Norma Joyce.   We spoke by phone a couple of times a year and since about 2008 when I go to Vancouver we would have a little visit..the last time was in May 2013.  
Being a teacher as well I so enjoyed listening to Kay's stories about school and also her family history.  When we adopted a little girl, Kay was very interested in her.  Even when I would visit alone Kay always remembered Chantelle's name and ask about what she was doing and her interests.
Usually I am in Vancouver for BCTF business for just a couple of days, twice a year.  A highlight of my trips were the moments spent with Kay, albeit only a little time, but I know it was special for both of us.  Chantelle and I will cherish these memories always.
